Csaba Pásztor

After completing my studies at the Royal College of Art I immediately started to teach and lecture in classical drawing and to work as an illustrator. I also received private commissions for paintings and interior design. During my training I had become increasingly convinced that creative artforms should serve a greater purpose than merely being commercial commodities and that arts and crafts should be applied to creating human spaces - buildings of all kinds both interiors and exteriors.

The art training I undertook in Hungary from the age of 12 was based purely on drawing from life - studying nature, perspective and anatomy. This, accompanied by my extensive studies of art history and architecture, inspired me to create and work beyond the limits of commercial art.

I took on commissions designing interiors both on paper and onsite. I became fascinated with period styles of English interiors and architecture. I trained myself as a bespoke furniture maker and as a wood- and stonecarver.

I furnished private and commercial properties - in most cases from floor to ceiling - with paintings, statues, carvings and Tromple O'lei paintings. I also designed and built gardens. At the same time I continued to teach classical drawing both privately and in institutions.
